Frédéric Weill

Frédéric is the founder of Swisscom Digital Technology. He has 25 years of experience in managing and growing technology firms in Europe. Frédéric co-founded Optaros in Boston (USA), which is now a recognized leader in the provision of innovative eCommerce services. Before that Frédéric was senior vice-president of Novell Inc.’s Consulting and Services in EMEA. He gained this position following Novell’s acquisition of Cambridge Technology Partners where he was Managing Director EMEA. Prior to this Frédéric worked for McKinsey & Company as an expert Associate Principal where he contributed to the launch of the Business Technology Office (BTO).
Before joining McKinsey, Frédéric worked as a VP of IT for SGS Société Générale de Surveillance (Geneva, Switzerland) and Accenture, where he started his professional career. Frédéric also served as a board member of Geneva’s chamber of commerce. He holds a degree from the Swiss Institute of Technology in Zurich with a specialization in Parallel Computer Architecture and Business Administration.

He was involved in the development and roll-out of numerous complex online solutions over the last years. Prior to joining Open Web Technology, Joël held various positions at Optaros, an internet consultancy specializing in e-commerce and online marketing: Starting as Program Manager, he was soon promoted to Delivery Manager for all Swiss operations, spanning two offices - Geneva and Zurich. Before that, Joël worked as Solutions Architect for various consulting firms. Joël holds a Master’s of Science from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (Lausanne).
Joël is heading up the Web Architecture practice at Open Web Technology. He is a seasoned IT professional with considerable knowledge in a number of functions including line management, project management, solution architecture and management consulting. With nearly 15 years’ international experience, Joël has a well-rounded profile, having had broad exposure to a variety of different industries, where he was able to gain an excellent technical understanding.

Fabrice has 20 years of experience in the design, development, and management of complex IT projects. Over the years, he has acquired a high business and technical expertise in a wide range of domains. His initial training in electronics and microtechnology gives him a particular interest in technical projects related to the manufacturing industry and automation. Passionate, Fabrice contributed to the opening and growth of the OpenWT office at the EPFL as Head of Development and now as Market Manager.
Fabrice holds a degree in Computer Science from the Ecole Technique d'Informatique de Lausanne and is Hermes certified, a standard and recognized methodology for the management of cantonal and federal projects in Switzerland. At work as well as at home, Fabrice is an unconsidered fan of Apple products and when he is not 'connected', you will find him renovating a part of his house.

Philippe is Partner at Open Web Technology and Market Manager for the OpenWT office in Basel. He has more than 15 years of experience in top management consulting and multi-stakeholder project management. The last 6 years, he guided CxO’s through their digital transformation and has a proven track-record from defining digital strategies to the successful implementation of digital solutions.
Philippe holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering & Information Technology from the ETH Zürich. Before joining Open Web Technology, Philippe build up the digital consulting practice at Swisscom Enterprise and worked for leading companies in the insurance, real estate, healthcare, logistics and retail industries.
Philippe has a strong user-centric mindset and combines innovation and creativity with leadership and management skills. He is passionate about making life easier and more comfortable by using digital technologies, at work and at home. And when he’s not working on the next exciting digital project, you will find him playing music with his band or spending time with his family.

For the past 20 years Markus has been helping clients reshape their business, invent new products and transform their organization with innovative digital technology. He uses his experience in the ICT industry and knowledge gained in the US to help teams and leaders to successfully make the transformation to a digital powerhouse.
Before joining Open Web Technology, Markus was Head of Digital Marketing & Customer Experience at Aevis Victoria SA. He oversaw the company’s various digital healthcare initiatives. Previously Markus held roles as VP of Sales and Marketing as well as Director of Business Development at technology companies where he was responsible for sales and marketing teams, go-to market strategies and innovation projects. Markus was co-founder of Almer/Blank, a digital agency in Los Angeles. He worked with clients including Toyota, Honda, Apple and IKEA to develop enterprise level applications for web and mobile. He invented a medical device planning software that was later acquired by Medtronic. Markus brings valuable entrepreneurial expertise combined with proven leadership and international business skills. He earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Zurich. Markus grew up in Switzerland and lived for 15 years in sunny California.

His strengths lie in his ability to combine his knowledge in business strategy with his change management skills, which he can both apply to a wide variety of industries, including telecommunication, blue chip, financial services, consumer goods and government organizations. Kay holds a Master’s of Science in Industrial management and Manufacturing from the Swiss Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETHZ).
Kay is heading up the e-commerce practice at Open Web Technology. He has 20 years’ experience in consulting and change management in the areas of e-commerce and customer relationship management. Prior to his joining, Kay was a director at Optaros where he worked as client partner and account manager for their blue-chip clients, helping them to design, implement, roll-out and operate advanced IT-solutions. He started his career at Cambridge Technology Partners, where he worked as a senior consultant.

He has a proven expertise delivering ambitious technological projects for leading companies in industries ranging from manufacturing to health or telecommunications - always with a hands-on approach.
Pierre holds a Master’s in Communication System from EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) focused on distributed systems and software engineering. Prior to joining OpenWT, Pierre worked for Microsoft in Switzerland and in the US and founded a web development firm. When he is not working, you will find Pierre cooking or scouting gourmet restaurants.

Cédric has more than 25 years of experience in the ICT industry. He has built a specific acumen in driving and growing business development organisations to address multinational and large companies. The last 14 years, he actively participated to the business model transformation of Orange Business Services from a pure telecom player to a world leader in digital B2B and B2C consulting, solutions and services provider with a broad portfolio such as global IT infrastructures, IoT, omni-channel customer engagement, digital workplace, etc.
Before joining Orange, Cédric worked for the Swiss IT manufacturer and solutions provider Ascom where he managed and developed the Suisse Romande region and then joined a start-up of the group to develop the Southern Europe countries. He started his career in a banking software company.
Cédric holds a Master of Science from the Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) completed by a Program for Executive Development cursus at the IMD Business School of Lausanne. Innovation, challenges and customer satisfaction are guiding him.

Jean-Luc brings 25 years of experience in digital entrepreneurship. He is driven by innovation & customer success and loves bringing challenging ideas to market launch and growing businesses.
Before joining the company, Jean-Luc held several positions in the management of business units, innovation and product strategy worldwide. He was notably Director at EPFL in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics, where he led a team of data scientists, developers and analysts. Prior to EPFL, he also served as Vice President at Kudelski, the world leader in digital media and security. He had different leadership roles, from business unit management, to innovation and new business development, located in Switzerland and in the USA.
Jean-Luc grew up in Switzerland and spent a few years in the Silicon Valley and the East Coast US. He holds a Master of Science from the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) completed by EMBA’s Program for Executive Development at the IMD Business School of Lausanne.
